John Lutz (1939-) has won an Edgar Award and a Shamus Award (twice) for his writing. His novel Single White Female was turned into a 1992 movie starring Bridget Fonda. Lutz also provided the story and screenplay for The Ex (1997), starring Nick Mancuso.
Dancer's Debt features St. Louis private eye Alo Nudger, who made his debut in Buyer Beware (1976).
