Velda Johnston (1912-1997) authored 37 romance/Gothic romance/thriller novels during her lifetime. Her first published novel was Along a Dark Path (1968). Her 1968 novel A Howling in the Woods was made into a 1971 TV movie starring Barbara Eden, Larry Hagman, John Rubinstein and Vera Miles. The Underground Stream was Johnston's final book.
